Dallas Mavericks owner, Mark Cuban has always been a very emotional team owner. This must have been the greatest feeling he’s ever had since his team is now Finals bound! This the the first ever trip to the Finals the team has ever had so it’s a historic and happy occasion. The Mavericks beat the Phoenix Suns 102-93 in this 6th game of the series. The series went 4-2.

Facing elimination, the Suns made the Mavericks work for their victory. The Suns had a sizeable lead by the end of the first half, even reaching 18 points as the biggest lead they had. It looked like the Suns were going to force a game 7. But then defense and mental toughness brought them back into the game and eventually the “W”. The Suns just got themselves tired.

“Our guys fought as hard as they could; we just ran out of steam,” said Suns coach Mike D’Antoni, who ended his postgame comments in tears. “Third quarter, we just got bogged down and couldn’t score.” Source

The Mavericks are one step closer to winning their first ever championship - another great achievement for Coach of the Year Avery Johnson, who is still yet to complete his first full season as a head coach. Johnson’s next challenge is to win that title by defeating the Dwayne Wade - Shaq tandem and the Miami Heat. Let’s see what happens. It’s interesting to find out what will happen since it will be the first time for both teams in the Finals.
