Jazz, Cavs Win Game 3 At Home

by Angelo on May 28th, 2007

The power of playing at home is something that should not be underestimated and that’s why I knew the Utah Jazz and the Cleveland Cavaliers still had a very good chance to win a game. That’s exactly what happened for these two teams who were both down 2-0 but showed signs that theyhave what it takes to snag a win from their more favoured opponents.

Jazz - Spurs

The Spurs played very well in the first two games but the Jazz made them look like a bunch of amateurs in game 3 as the Jazz played at home. The Jazz didn’t just win. They won with such a large margin (109-83) that they basically had the Spurs’ asses handed to them. Deron Williams and Carlos Boozer must have made Stockton and Malone proud by posting great numbers and making the right plays to carry the team to this victory. Williams had 31 points and 8 assists while Boozer had 27 points and 12 rebounds.

The Jazz’s aggressiveness forced Spurs’ star Tim Duncan to see fewer minutes as he fought foul trouble throughout the game. He had 5 fouls while posting just 16 points and 8 rebounds in 26 minutes of action.

Cavaliers - Pistons

Tired of the criticisms from the last two games, Lebron James willed his team to win against the Pistons 88-82. This time Lebron took matters into his own hands as he exploded for 32 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists and even making key shots towards the end of the game to earn the win.

While Lebron played great, the same couldn’t be said for Chauncey Billups and Rip Hamilton both of whom struggled to shoot all game. They combined for just 6 made field goals the whole game and when both Rip and Chauncey struggle at the same time something bad is bound to happen. This just made things easier for Lebron and the Cavs to snag the game 3 win.

It was a great win for the Jazz. I would like to see them win game 4 and get this series back to 50/50. I am hopeful that they can pull this out and get back to the finals!!!
