Spurs Barely Win Game 5, Avoid Elimination

The Spurs played with a sense of urgency in this “win or go home” situation. The Spurs played well in this game, especially the dominant performance of Tim Duncan (36 points and 12 rebounds) yet still almost gave the game away, winning only by one point 98-97. So the Spurs pull of a victory yet the fact that keeps me nagging me is that they only won by one point. It was a grueling battle that kept both teams equally matched, with the score tied at half time. As I said in a previous post, the odds are against the Spurs at this point, even with this victory. The Mavs only need one victory to eliminate the Spurs and they almost did that in this game. The Mavs have two more chances, they only need one. The Spurs have to do better than they did in this game to keep the Mavs away next time. It’s really a nagging fact… One point!
In other news, What the hell happened to Detroit?!! Cleveland beat them again! I’m beginning to think Rasheed should shut his pie hole and that we’ll see Lebron in the Conference finals”

Another great game! You’re absolutely right about how close these games have been. The difference could be one rebound, one shot, one free throw, one foul, one turnover, one steal, one lucky bounce. The offense for both sides has been amazing. Both teams seem unstoppable at times. Every possesion matters and could make or break the game. I hope it goes to 7!
