Shaq Struggles, Bulls Win Game 3
After being dealt two losses in this first round series, the Chicago Bulls manage to pull a 109-90 win over the Miami Heat. The Bulls kept the scoring coming with 5 of the Bulls scoring in double figures, three of whom went over the 20 point mark. The Shaq-Wade one-two punch didn’t quite deliver in game 3. While Wade churned out his 26 points; Shaq struggled the whole game, coming out with just 8 points, missing all of 6 free throws and committing 7 turnovers. The Bulls were able to get Shaq into foul trouble early in the game - probably the reason for his low production - and they took advantage of it. Alonzo Mourning wasn’t able to fill in for Shaq properly, grabbing just 2 rebounds in about eight minutes of action.
The Chicago Bulls victory over the Heat proves anything can happen in a seven game series. They sent a message across that the Bulls are not a team you can bring down without a fight. They sent the Heat a message that they’ll have to work much much harder to bring them down. They showed that The Diesel can actually be stopped, if you play things right. But more importantly, they have proven that a team even without star can win big games as long as they play like a team.

When the Bird/ Magic era ended, and I needed a new team to cheer for, I decided to go for things Chicago, since my in-laws lived there. So….Go Bears, Go Bulls. Just about then, the MJ era got started. After that glorious run, and since the Celtics didnt show any signs of life….I went for San Antonio. Now, the Bulls are showing LIFE! Without any real stars, they are doing it again. And against another favorite team, the HEAT! Oh my! Now, if only the Bulls could manage to really play great basketball and get into the final four. This would be really fun!
