Scott Would Love To Have Andersen Back

by Angelo on March 7th, 2007

In life it’s important to forgive and forget people for their wrong doings. They still need to pay their dues but once that’s done everything should be in the past. That’s exactly how Hornets coach Byron Scott feels about Chris Andersen, who was with the Hornets before he got dismissed from the league for violating the NBA drug policy back in January 2006. Andersen will be free to reapply for reinstatement next year and Scott is only happy to welcome him back if he can play again by that time.

“If he is cleared by the NBA and everything, I would love to have Birdman back,” Scott said. “. . . He was one of my favorites. He’s very coachable and played as hard as anybody, and I would love to have him back.”

Everyone probably remembers Andersen for showing very poorly at the slam dunk competition back in 2005. Honestly I don’t know why they allowed him to join. But seriously, as bad as he was in that competition he still was a pretty dependable big man rebounding the ball and blocking shots. That’s why I’m sure Scott would love him back and put in the fact that he’s very coachable - that’s a coach favorite right there. Personally it would be nice to see Andersen playing again when the time comes. It may be some other team but he can be pretty sure the door will be open with the Hornets.
