Riley Takes Leave of Absence
The Miami Heat attempt to defend their NBA title this season has seen a lot of major setbacks this season because of many injuries to key players. It seems that health taken its toll on the coach too since Pat Riley announced that he is taking an indefinite leave of absence because of problems hip and knee. Riley mentioned that he will coach again someday but in the meantime he has handed the coaching duties to assistant Ron Rothstein, who was head coach of the Heat during its early days.
“My plans are to return,” he said. “This is a leave of absence and my plan is to return. When that is, I can’t tell you.”
I wish Riley the best of luck as he will be needing hip replacement surgery. Surely I want to see the legendary coach back again.
