Raptors Clinch Playoff Berth
The the time of the year when teams are fighting hard for a playoff spot and that’s exactly what happened to the Toronto Raptors. As the leader of the Atlantic division, the Raptors finally clinch a spot in the post season after 5 long years in the lottery. The Raptors are currently 41-32.
“It means a lot to me,” said Bosh, who signed an extension with Toronto last summer. “It quiets the people who were like ‘Why did you come here? Why didn’t go you to the States?’ It’s just a good feeling that my beliefs have paid off and it’s turned to reality.”
The Raptors were sick of losing year after year and that’s why they hired current Gm Bryan Colangelo. His offseason moves that basically cleaned out the roster and brought in new faces was enough to give the team not only a new look but also a new attitude. TJ Ford, Jorge Garbajosa, Anthony Parker, Rasho Nesterovic, Andrea Bargnani - these are a few of the new faces along with Colangelo himself who gave the team a winning mentality. Star Chris Bosh finally had really great guys to work with.
I think the city of Toronto finally deserves a winning team after such a long wait. While I’m happy for the Raptor’s achievement, I feel very sorry for Jorge Garbajosa since he’s injured and can’t play in the post season. he’s one of the important pieces who made this possible and he can’t celebrate it by playing. But I guess for now it’s enough that to take it one day at a time and just be happy for the Raptors that finally got out of the losing habit like the Clippers did last season. The Raptors have a great talented team and they can only get better. I’m already excited for what Colangelo could do for thi team next season.
