Nazr Mohammed to sign with Pistons

To help fill in that big hole left by Ben Wallace leaving, the Detroit Pistons managed to reach an agreement with free agent Nazr Mohammed who played for the Spurs the past few years. Having played for a quality organization like the Spurs, Mohammed could be a good asset especially since he was a valuable player in the 2005 Spurs championship team. He won’t be as dominant rebounding and blocking shots as Ben Wallace but he’s a decent replacement especially since he’s going to cost less than Wallace had he stayed. In the recently concluded 2005-2006 season Nazr Mohammed was not used that much because of Coach Greg Popovich’s strategy to play small ball, playing Tim Duncan at center instead of him. I’m sure this had something to do with his decision to sign with the Pistons instead of remaining a Spur.
