Nash’s Jersey Retired At Santa Clara
It’s a great day for Steve Nash when Santa Clara retired his college jersey. His no 11 jjersey now hangs at the Leavey Center at Santa Clara ans the only one at that, being the only person to receive the honor from the university.
“This is obviously very exciting for me,” Nash said. “I don’t get a chance to come back to school often, so for me to be here is just great, and coupled with the huge honor it is to be able to be acknowledged for my career, is amazing and very humbling.”
It’s nice to see that there are still players in the league that are so talented and hard working and of star quality but also very humble and unselfish like Syeve Nash. Nash is so fitting to be an MVP because he really is a great player and person on and off the court. His jersey retirement at Santa Clara is just another honor for such a great guy.

Many of my best friends graduated from Sta Clara. The last thing I ever expected from that school was a good basketball team. But Steve Kerr, no matter what school he comes from, is a credit to the game. A true team player with a deadly accurate shot. Humble and unassuming too.
Great guy!

It’s Steve Nash but oddly enough those words you used to describe Kerr also seem to fit Nash. Both are really great people and Kerr was one cool player and Nash’s 2 MVP’s say he is too!
NBA Obsessed » Wade’s Jersey Retired A Marquette

[...] I think it’s his immediate rise to super stardom that prompted the early decision to retire Wade’s jersey after only just a few years of graduating from the school. (It’s only after about 10 years that Steve Nash’s jersey was retired at Santa Clara and his back to back MVP seasons probably prompted that.) “All I can say right now is, ‘Wow,”‘ Wade told the crowd at the Marquette-Providence game. “Coach Crean sent an unbelievable message about me. He believed in me. When I came in six-and-a-half years ago, he believed in a young, shy kid from Chicago, Ill. And I will forever love coach for that.” [...]
