Melo’s Open Letter On Eve Of His Return

So Carmelo Anthony is back from his suspension and I’m sure the Denver Nuggets are relieved that they finally have someone to help in their starved offense as of late. Melo released an open letter on the eve of his return and I like what he’s saying assuming he’s sincere about what he said (and I think he is). Melo took his suspension like a true star in the league and role model for young fans. He had the chance to appeal but he realized that he got what he deserved so he didn’t bother.
What really touched me about his letter was this paragraph and I hope that all NBA players should always try to live up to such ideals:
I’ve also spent time thinking about the huge responsibilities I have as the captain of the Denver Nuggets, the captain of Team USA, a face of the NBA, and a role model to young people. I’m aware that a great deal is expected of me, and not just as a player. I’m expected to make the right decisions, lead by example and to be a professional
Now after a long wait we can finally see if the Melo-AI combo will work. For the sake of them both I sure hope so.
