Mavs Sweep Grizzlies

The Dallas Mavericks have been lucky to be the only ones to cruise through their first round series, sweeping the Memphis Grizzlies with victory in game 4. Now they have the luxury of taking a breather as they wait for the winner of the Spurs-Kings matchup, who are tied at 2-2.

The Mavs dealt the Grizzlies a crushing loss of 102-76, a finishing touch to a well played series. The Mavs offensive force was too much for their opponent to handle - Nowitzki with 27 points, Howard with 24, Stackhouse with 19 and Terry with 12. Only Gasol and Miller were able to score in double figures for the Grizzlies with 25 and 10 respectively.

As soon as I found out about the Mavs-Griz matchup I sort of knew this series would be one of the “boring” ones in the sense that I expected it to be a sweep in the making. Here’s my “1337 SP34K” formula for the Mavericks Success, which they used to sweep the Grizzlies:

Dirk Nowitzki + Defense + Deep Bench + Coach of the Year = Pwnage!

Ok ok. I’ve been gone from playing World of Warcraft for a long time so bear with me. But you get my drift right. Add to that formula the fact that the Mavericks just have a winning attitude that’s been there for a long time. The Mavs had experience on their side, especially with a leader that has advanced in the playoffs so many times in Dirk.

Poor Grizzlies. It’s their third time to reach the playoffs and they still haven’t won a single playoff game.
