Early Entry List for 2006 Draft Released

by Angelo on May 4th, 2006

Tyrus Thomas

The early entry list for this year’s draft is out. This gives you an idea of the people who might be selected on draft day on June 28. This year’s draft contains some interesting players like Gonzaga’s Adam Morrison, Duke’s JJ Reddick, LSU’s Tyrus Thomas and Texas’ LaMarcus Aldridge. In spite of those names, this draft is thought to be a relatively weak draft with no clear picture as to who is deserving of the #1 pick. Without guys like Joakim Noah, who led the Florida Gators to the NCAA title, and Chinese “the next Yao Ming” Yi Jianlan, the draft becomes even ‘weaker”.

    JJ ALL THE WAY, BABY!!!!!

Yes, I am very biased as I live in the College Basketball Capital of the World: North Carolina!

Of course, JJ has the dreaded Duke curse to overcome. Few, if any, Duke players ever went on to NBA greatness. Laitner, Hill, Hurley (to name a few) never really amounted to much. Of course, it is hard to say with Hurley as his career was cut short because of the car wreck.

I’m hoping that JJ can turn things around.

But you’re correct to say that this years draft line-up is weak. There was never really anyone that made you stand up and say “HOLY @#$&!!, that guy is AWESOME!!”

But the NBA as a whole is struggling some. They need some fresh faces that love the game. Too many players today are more worried about the “BLING” that comes with their outrageous salaries: FUGLY Hummers, police records, way too many stupid looking tattoos, the list goes on. The NBA needs to seriously look at getting an “EXTREME MAKEOVER” and getting rid of these trouble-makers and recruiting some REAL basketball players!

    YEAH, BABY!!!!
